With it brand new LEED-certified reception building, which will be officially opened during 2018, the Centre écologique Fernand-Seguin now ranks as a top-quality destination for outdoor recreation. Its noble and distinctive tree species contribute to making this 65-hectare forest a highly valuable ecological site. Included in Châteauguay’s network of parks, the area is one of the most visited parks in the region. Access is free at all times as are some of the activities offered. Héritage Saint-Bernard has the mandate to manage and protect the ecology centre.
Although at all times five kilometres of hiking trails are accessible at no cost, the ecology centre is especially popular during the winter months with its 15 kilometres of trails for cross-country skiing, four kilometres for snowshoeing and two kilometres for walking. There is also a small hill to enjoy sliding.
The ecology centre is accessible via Fernand-Seguin street Châteauguay, behind the Centre Multisport of Châteauguay. Dogs, other domestic animals and bicycles are not allowed.
